Overlooking the lakefront on the fourth floor of the Ariel Broadway Hotel, ONE Lorain County’s annual meeting heard David Zak laud the area’s growth and progress and say he hoped to see it continue in the right direction.

Housing Study and Action Plan

Lorain County, OH – ONE Lorain County and Lorain County Public Health are seeking proposals from qualified individuals or firms to conduct a comprehensive Housing Study and Action Plan. This project is a crucial step toward ensuring that housing opportunities are available for all residents, regardless of household type, age, or income level.

Qualified firms with a background in community housing issues are encouraged to submit a proposal.

Proposals are due by Friday, November 7, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. EST.

Last fall, Avon resident Lisa Hutson took the helm as director of ONE Lorain County. The newly formed, private, nonprofit countywide economic development organization is dedicated to encouraging growth and prosperity in conjunction with local, regional and statewide economic development and philanthropic organizations and public sector leaders.

The Board of Directors for ONE Lorain County announced that Lisa Hutson has been selected to lead the newly formed countywide economic development organization, according to a news release.

ONE Lorain County’s mission is to encourage economic growth and prosperity in Lorain County in coordination with other economic development organizations, public sector leaders and philanthropic organizations, it said in a news release.

With the introduction of its latest business and economic development agency, Lorain County has gone “All for ONE.” An acronym that stands for Ohio Neighborhood Engagement (ONE), Lorain County is already developing initiatives designed to provide assistance to residents interested in working together. This 501(c)(3) countywide economic development organization also is receiving financial support from local governments, private businesses, educational entities, organizations and the philanthropic community.
